We are seeking a medical assistant with great customer service skills and a passion for patient care to join our team as a Medical Assistant. This role will require the employee to provide great care to patients, manage some administrative tasks, and provide great medical duties. 

Job duties include:

  • Handle all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism while assisting customers in all inquiries above and beyond expected level of service

  • Schedule patients electronically, telephonically, and/or in person while triaging the patient as directed by the physician

  • Perform front office duties by welcoming patients to the clinic, obtaining check-in information and ensuring appropriate information has been obtained and entered into the EMR prior to the patient visit

  • Carry out the orders of the physician concerning patient care in a safe, competent and friendly manner. These duties include but are not limited to vital signs, phlebotomy, injections, medication dispensing (under physician's order/approval), POC testing, EKGs, etc.

  • Coordinate clinical follow up(s) such as scheduling appointments, labs, referrals, diagnostic care

  • Process transactions and/or membership fees required

  • Order and facilitate arrival of medical supplies, office supplies, and medications as directed by the physician

  • Work with computers, web-browser technology, digital care platforms and EMR systems

  • Foster a team-oriented and collaborative work environment

  • Educate prospective and current patients on the model of direct primary care as outlined by Freedom Healthworks

  • Provides excellent and effective communication with patients, physician and other key team members in a professional and timely manner

  • Maintain patient engagement while providing outstanding care

Key Requirements

  • Active credentials/licensure

  • Ability to maintain annual certifications in CPR and licensing as well as clinical skills as required

  • Understand medical terminology

  • Ability to occasionally lift 10-20 pounds

  • Sufficient vision acuity for routine computer use

  • Ability to walk, sit, or stand at moderate levels

  • Strong communication skills: Written, verbal, and listening

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new processes and procedures

  • High organizational skills, great interpersonal skills and ability to work as a key team member

  • Ability and willingness, if necessary, to be present during all hours of scheduled appointments, take calls from and help patients outside of scheduled appointment times, and be present for infrequent urgent appointments outside of regular appointment times.
